Tutorial chess board: walnut and sycamore

Handmade chess board that combines the colours of the sought-after light brown walnut wood with the ivory-white colour of sycamore wood with the coordinates on the frame of the board. Its surface has a matte varnish that enhances the richness of the wood tones and provides a smooth texture for the chess pieces to slide with precision.

Walnut and cream maple veneer chess board with thin cream 'stringing' detail around the playing area and the squares are labelled with axes from A-H and 1-8.

This board comes in two sizes suitable for ornamental and Staunton style pieces.

• X Small 12.5" (32 cm) board has 1.4" squares (35 mm)
• Small 14" (35 cm) board has 1.6" squares (40 mm)
