Scoop card game - 1920s

A remarkable copy of "Scoop," a card game published by James Cond Ltd (printer and publisher), located at 9 Charlotte Street, Birmingham, circa 1920s.

This game captures the competitive spirit of journalism, where players assume the roles of reporters vying to secure the latest breaking news story. Successful players earn their "Scoop" by featuring it in the "Stop Press."

The game comprises six distinct sets of seven cards, each rendered in a unique colour. Players engage in strategic bartering to amass all seven cards within a set while skilfully avoiding penalty cards.

Very good condition throughout, the box only has fractional damage in the form of a couple of tiny tears and still folds open smoothly. The cards show a little bit of wear to their edges and surfaces, but again no creases or tears. Includes original folding rules booklet. Grade 1 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
