2.75" Regency chess set - 1900-1910

CHF 104.00

A fine example of a Regency chess set from 1900-1910, featuring a 2.75" King crafted from high-quality boxwood.

This set represents a distinguished style of chess pieces that traces its origins back to the 18th century, closely associated with the French Regency period during the influential eras of figures like Richelieu and Mazarin. These sets like this one were usually un-felted and un-weighted.

This set of pieces fits nicely on our new 14" Hertford chess boards (pictured), sold separately.

The set is in very good condition, aside from a small chip to the top of one white bishop (pictured) and includes an original slide lid box that is unfortunately damaged - chip to the lid and underside, but can still safely protect the pieces. Grade 2 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
