The Diver - 1900s

This is an extremely rare copy from Chad Valley Games made in Harborne, England.

The object is very simple but beautifully presented. First place the box with the lid reversed beneath it on a table and fix the picture-board upright at one end in the special slot provided. Secure the diver beneath the wood catch at the back. Second, The Players, standing any agreed distance away, in turn shoot at the shark and endeavour to shoot down its throat and compel it to release the diver whom it is on the point of swelling, and who then rises safely to the surface again.

Each successful shot counts 10 points, the winner being he who firsts scores 100.

Excellent condition, Grade 1 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System (see here).
