Roman gladiators game - 1970s
This amusing metal and wood dexterity game dates from the 1970s.
The aim of the game is to hit a red disc - hidden behind a shield - on the opposing gladiator's front, which then activates a spring and topples the defeated gladiator over. Each gladiator is moveable in a wide arc and can move his metal sword in and out to hit the disc, and also parry with his shield. The whole shebang is worked by a system of pulleys, wires and springs.
We've never seen a game like this before! An endearing mechanical delight in full working order, with some minor wear and tear.
