Round Britain: The Road Safety card game - 1955

$64.00

Round Britain was published by Pepys Games in 1955 as a successor to Belisha which had been out-of-print for some time, aimed to stimulate road safety awareness amongst young people.

The cards feature places of beauty and historical interest around Britain, incorporating traffic signs, with additional safety cards showing examples of good and bad safety awareness in situations such as crossing the road or signalling. The game was approved by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

We can identify this as a first edition copy as on the back of the rules, there are a few facts listed and they got the place where Mary Queen of Scots was executed wrong in the 1st edition, but this is amended in the 2nd edition rule booklet.

Includes the original rules booklet with 44 colourful cards in excellent order with no rips, tears, creases, dog ears or marking. The box is a bit grubby but is in complete condition. Grade 2 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
