A brilliant 1930s Chinese bone and bamboo Mah-Jong set with bone tally sticks, wind indicator and a complete set of tiles and spare pieces.
Contained within a high grade brown leather stitched carrying case with leather handle, nickel corner mounts to lid, side latches, front catch and lock. The interior of the case and trays are lined in calf skin.
The look is completed with a contemporary address label, likely dating from the 1930's, that is addressed to a French gentleman living in Shanghai attached with the original string and key to it. For which the lock still works perfectly.
Overall case measurement: 23cm width x 15cm height x 14cm depth (9 x 6 x 5.5 inches)
All in all, a great piece in excellent original condition. Grade 1 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
