Diplomacy, a strategic board game set in Europe during the tumultuous years leading up to the First World War. Designed for two to seven players, each participant takes command of the armed forces of a major European power, or, in smaller games, multiple powers.
The objective is clear: maneuver your initial units to outmaneuver and defeat your opponents, securing a majority of strategic cities and provinces designated as "supply centers" on the map. Control of these supply centers is crucial, as they enable players to generate additional units to strengthen their position.
Gameplay revolves around player negotiations, where alliances are formed and strategies are discussed. After each round of negotiations, players issue attack and support orders, which are executed in the movement phase. A player secures control of a province when the number of supporting provinces for the attacking province exceeds that of the defending province.
This is a grey box copy from the 1980s and wasn't as common as the purple or red box editions.
Every corner of the box has been tape repaired with invisible tape but the components are complete and the board is in very good condition. Grade 2 overall under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System (see here).
