Totopoly is a commercial board game, based on the events leading up to, and during, a horse race. Originally published in 1938 by Waddingtons, the game is based on a double-sided board, with each side representing a different half of the game.

This vintage Totopoly board game by Waddingtons is a rare early edition dating from the 1940’s. This edition features a large ‘book-style’ game board with separate box and wartime cardboard horses with jockeys mounted on wooden blocks.

Full sets of the following:

  • Totalisator Receipts
  • Red, yellow, black and blue advantage cards
  • White disadvantage cards
  • Full block of cash that looks as though never used
  • 12 lease cards, vets reports, trainers reports for Stevedon and Walroy stables
  • Owners club memberships
  • 20 lease cards for horses and businesses
  • Rules sheet for short and long games
  • Coloured plastic pawn for each stable
  • One of the original red wooden dice is present, but two correct sized 12mm modern white dice are included for completeness.
  • One original money pad

Board dimensions: 51 x 35cm

Box dimensions: 18 x 23 x 5cm

The large board is slightly scuffed but with tears or rips. The interior of the board with the race course and the ring is pristine and the box for the playing pieces measures is in excellent order with the original 12 compartments for the horses. Grade 2 overall under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
