A lovely variation of a cup and ball with a spike rather than the tradition cup which has been well made and beautifully painted. We date this game at between the 1940s to early 50s.

One of the earliest and favourite games played by children is the cup and ball toy. This toy was popular in Europe with adults and children alike. Cups and balls came to England from France where it was originally called bilboquet.
