This is a fantastic vintage game, not about racing greyhounds but rather betting on the results of the races.

First the track is made by arranging the hurdles six inches apart on a table with the six greyhounds placed in front of the first hurdle in number order. Four players then operate the "win", "place", "forecast" and tote double" pools and issue tickets to the bettors. A dice is then rolled to decide which of the six greyhounds move. The player with the most money after a series of races is the winner.

This example from the 1950s was made in Britain by Detoy Bros and is exceptionally rare, especially considering it's in complete condition and has intact paper playing pieces, the metal pieces were much more common.

Includes 6 metal hurdles, original cards, rules, money and a singular wooden die.

Box Dimensions: 30.5cm x 26cm x 4cm

One corner of the lid is ripped but otherwise this game is in remarkably good condition, still very much playable. Grade 2 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System (see here).
