This vintage Horse Racing game, titled "Sport-o-Kings," is in excellent condition for its age, showing minimal signs of use. It is extremely rare and should not be confused with the similarly named "Sport of Kings."
This game, published around 1939, uses a deck of cards and is played on a white cloth board. The board features text at the bottom right that reads: WADDY PRODUCTIONS, Astor House, Aldwych, London WC2, with Series No. G. 99. Since Waddy Productions relocated to Astor House from 27a Farringdon Street, London EC4, in late 1938, we can accurately date this game.
Waddy Productions Ltd was a member of the giant Amalgamated Press group and only published card games for a short period in the 1930s.
It includes deck of cards, original cardboard tokens, the rules sheet and plenty of blank Odds and Stakes sheets.
Cloth board dimensions: 107 x 56 cm
Very good condition throughout, a little wear to the box but as this game is so rare and we have only ever seen one other that was in much worse condition this is definitely worthy of a Grade 1 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
