The Counties of England 4th series - 1910

£65.00

The Counties of England card game was based on Happy Families and first published by Jaques in 1866. The game was designed to educate as well as entertain. Each of the place-name cards have a picture and some interesting facts about that particular place.

Jaques' Counties of England card game, 4th Series covers the Southern Counties and is very rare to come by, we were lead to believe there were only three in the series until very recently.

This edition we can date with accuracy to between 1904 and 1920 based upon the information given for Osborne House being used as a Naval College - it was only used as such between these dates.

The cards are immaculate and inside is the rules sheet, the box has a little pen mark to the front but otherwise only has common signs of wear. Grade 2 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
