Antique Roll-up Chess board - Late 1800s

£90.00

Here is a great traveller/explorers antique roll up chess board made from wood, from the late 1800s (hard to pinpoint an exact date).

Squares of Mahogany and Sycamore. The chessboard is most likely French from the mid-Victorian period although does have a tunbridge ware Esq. design around the border.

Overall dimensions: 35 x 34.5cm

Chessboard play area: 12" with 1.3" x 1.3" squares

As far as we can tell it has original baize lining and is holding together well. It is best to be careful when unravelled and rolled back up. A wonderful and unique chess accessory that is a Grade 2 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
