5-drawer Mahjong case

An unusual striped wooden drop-front Mahjong case with dove-tailed joints and a decorative, chased metal carrying handle styled after the 1950s. The five drawers containing the tiles slide into individual ledges and have wooden pulls. The complete set of tiles are made of plastic and split bamboo.

The bottom drawer also houses tally sticks, a winds indicator and dice.  

Approximate case size is 8.5 x 7.25 x 5.75 inches and the tiles are 18mm x 25mm x 12mm 

This is a one-off piece and we were initially told it was vintage but after some analysis, we believe it is a modern set modelled in a 1950s style.
