Three-Handed Mahogany Cribbage Board - 1880

A three-handed oblong mahogany Cribbage board from the late 19th Century, circa 1880. 

The top has a rosewood surround with three lines of bone inlay with holes for playing pegs, dividing the bone are lines of stringing of boxwood, ebony, kingwood and birch.

There are six stained bone pegs stored in the inner, lidded compartment. The inside of the lid and the floor are plushly lined in an Ochre coloured velvet. The box has original hinges and swing hook closure.

A few minor dinks and scratches common with an item of this age as well as a little colour loss on the red pegs, otherwise in superb condition. Grade 1 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
