Vintage backgammon - 1940s

£69.00

This backgammon set features a printed crocodile skin effect case that elegantly opens to an impressive size of 14" x 30". The exterior is adorned with vibrant red and black pennants set against a split-milk background, adding a touch of sophistication.

Inside, you will find a smaller crocodile print box (approximately 60mm x 35mm x 25mm) with a convenient drop lid, which houses a pristine set of black and white turned backgammon pieces, meticulously crafted and in immaculate condition. Additionally, the set includes two beautifully designed 18th-century style wooden shakers, enhancing its vintage charm.

While there are no definitive manufacturer's marks, we believe the maker to be Kent and Cleale, dating the set to the 1940s. To complete the set, we have included modern wooden dice and a doubling cube.

Good condition, only a couple of marks to the exterior of the backgammon case. Grade 2 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
