Minoru Horse Racing Game - 1900s

Named for King Edward VII's Epsom Derby-winning Irish thoroughbred racehorse, Minoru, the game Minoru was a popular parlour game, kept available in the lounge of hotels and clubs as well as in homes between the world wars.

This mahogany box example is in excellent original condition with colour transfer of 'King Edward Derby with Minoru leading' to top of lid.

Includes an ebony croupiers rake, deck of cards, six metal hand-painted horses, a virtually unused 'race track' and the rules, all original. Plus a pack on contemporary style bone counters. One of the best copies of 'Minoru' we have ever seen.

Good overall condition, Grade 2 under the Hoyles Vintage Grading System.
