Escalado (Wood Box) - 1940s


This is a superb, excellent condition, wooden box version of the classic game, Escalado. Which was a popular English table horse racing game created in the late 1920's. Up to six "jockeys" each have a metal horse, and one player acts as the bookie. Players then place wagers on the five colored mechanical horses, which race across a vibrating course. The player with the most money after the agreed upon number of races is the winner.

Circa 1940's. Metal ratchet and winder. Six horse version, (standard ones had five). Yellow, green, blue, black, pink and brown. Silver 'By Appointment' label to lid top.
