Dan Dare Race in Space - 1952

£90.00

Dan Dare was a hero from boy's comics, making his debut in the Eagle comic in 1950. He was drawn by Frank Hampson. The character was an immediate hit and there was even a weekly serial transmitted on Radio Luxembourg.

This is a simple roll and move game. If you land on an orange square you must obey the instructions. The best squares allow you to take shortcuts. The first to get to the end of the track, wins.

By Chad Valley with permission of the 'Eagle' comic. Early 1960s. Simple 'Snakes and Ladders' type board game. Front box illustration is straight out of the 'Eagle'. The six playing pieces are hand painted 'soldier metal, being miniature versions of Dan's space ship. The board features illustrations, (from 'Eagle' again), of all Dan's colleagues and enemies.
