Chess set with peg pieces, made from sheesham and sycamore wood. The playing area, on the underside of the lid, may be turned over and repositioned to play, creating a closed box underneath. Two larger pegs behind the light and dark sides on the lid may be removed to reveal a hole: captured pieces may be dropped through these holes during play to avoid loss and keep all pieces safe together.
