Ship Ahoy board game - 1930s
A map board based on Long Island Sound in America.
Two to six players race yachts around Long Island Sound through a diamond grid. Movement is by deal of a card with “wind” (event) cards adding a gust of uncertainty. There are simple rules for tacking, the wind direction changing and the possible “blanketing” a yacht downwind of another.
From the 1930/40s Ahoy series, this game is simply immaculate. Lovely hand painted metal 'yachts' act as playing piece.
Good condition, Grade 2, under Hoyle's Vintage Grading System (see here).
