Air Charter - 1970

Designed by John King during his time at RAF Topcliffe in 1970, this engaging game puts players in the roles of competing air-freight companies transporting cargo between airfields in northern Australia and Southeast Asia.

Movement in the game is straightforward, as players roll a die to advance their aircraft. However, the inclusion of simple rules regarding air-lanes, airfield circuits, load sizes, and fuel consumption adds layers of strategy and planning, keeping the gameplay interesting.

The 'basic' game focuses on these core mechanics, while the 'full' game introduces additional freight rules, requiring players to compete not only for cargoes but also for crucial fuel-supply franchises.
